Hip, Hip, Hooray! I'm excited to announce that Julie Lee and I are teaming together to create Literacy and Math center packets to get you through an entire year of school. Our first packet for August/September will be released sometime in July. We are going to try to keep most of the centers in black and white so that you can copy and laminate on colored paper rather than using so much colored ink. Thoughts???
P.S. The Back to School unit will be finished by tomorrow! I will also work on answering more questions this week. Freebies coming up....my bin labels, Kindergarten Assessment sheets, Parent communication sheets, and more! Stay Tuned!

I think creating b/w versions will make it cheaper in the long run and keep the secretaries fro giving me the evil eye when I make copies for my classroom of all your wonderful creations. I am starting to plan for the fall (student teacher coming then too) to get a jump on the work. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Thanks
ReplyDeleteOooooohhhh...I cannot wait to see what you fabulous teacher come up with!
ReplyDeleteDeanna,
ReplyDeleteI have purchased all or your units and really enjoy all the activities you have included in each packet. If you decide to do black and white would it also be possible to still include the color graphics as well? I think it is so fun and engaging for the students to have the color that the graphics provide.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

I am so excited to see these units. I can't wait to get them all. I have loved all the items I have purchased or received through donation.
ReplyDeleteYou don't know how excited this just made me! The two of you are my kindergarten teacher idols! I can't imagine how great these packets are going to be. Can't wait! Thank you for all that you create and make available for other teachers.
ReplyDeleteWill they be based on Debbie Diller's Math Stations? I know that is what most of our administrators are wanting around where I live.

I can not wait! You are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteYah! So exciting! Black and white templates are great for photocopying but if possible, can you also include colour pictures (not very large) for pocket charts or student directions (Deanna - you do this with your emergent readers which is GREAT!). Looking forward to what you two will come up with!

That's a terrific idea! I like to econo-print on the Kitocera at school. The only workbook we have is our math book, so we copy minibooks, graphs, etc., all year! Thanks for another great set of materials gals!
ReplyDeleteMaggie
Thank you for doing them in black and white. Our school does not have have a color printer, but we have tons of colored construction paper. It's greatly appreciated! I can't wait to see your work! You're the best!
ReplyDeleteCan you post them in a black and white and a color version, so people would have the option??? Your stuff IS TOO CUTE!!! I've been greedy and printed everything in color just because it looks that great.
ReplyDeleteBut, I'll take a black and white copy too! Thanks for all of your hard work and awesome ideas! You are the BEST!!!
You. Are. Amazing!

The black and white sounds great! We can't print in color at school, so I am running right through it at home! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! I can't wait to see what you two come up with. I understand the practicality of black and white, but I'd love to have the option of color.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteI am so happy you are doing black and white. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI would love black and white and print on colored tag board! I have used so much colored ink but I just can't resist when I see your things. This way I could print them at school and save even more money! Thanks for all of your wonderful ideas!
ReplyDeleteYay! I am soooooo excited! I love both of your great and awesome ideas and have purchased and donated to both. Can't wait. :) I would like something on All about me!, 5 senses, and a friends unit. Thanks for all of your hard work.

I would love to see packets that integrated all areas science, social studies, literacy, math, and art. I would also love to see more cooperative learning games and more for ELL as well as character education things.

I love the color materials. If I need to conserve color ink, I just change my printer setting to print in grayscale. It works perfectly! Excited to see your new work!!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so very excited! I can't wait!!! Thank you ladies so much!!
ReplyDeleteToadally Awesome in Kindergarten
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh goodness gracious, great balls of fire!@.....both of you?....my mind can barely wrap itself around this idea.
ReplyDeleteDear Santa Jumps and Lees....I have been very good....I want it all....in living color too!! I would love Science/Literacy units on Dinosaurs, Landforms/Rocks, Transportation, a Social Studies unit on Friends, and AMERICA...and any surprises you think of for my stocking.

All joking aside....I am happy for us all....!!
IMHO: I just adjust my printer settings if I am having ink issues...however I agree with other posters....the color is so cute...it makes me want to work with the materials too.
Thanks for sharing your creativity with me....I am long in the tooth...but still can recognize talent and generosity when i see it.

I just happened upon your site today. Wow you are amazing. You share so much! Thank you for doing that for those of us who can't get our creative ideas to print. I also just found the teachers pay teachers site. I can't wait to explore that site and by some of your amazing units. Can a lot of your units be used for 1st graders?

Hi there!
ReplyDeleteI love all your units too! To answer your question, I prefer the colour units. They can always be printed on a black and white printer if people wish to save on ink but I think they are way too cute to be just black and white!!!!
Looking forward to seeing what you've got :)
Two words: YOU.ROCK.!!! Thanks for everything you do! Can't get enough!

I am DYING to see the new units! I've logged on today just to see if they've been uploaded yet - I'm working on patience ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are the best!
Anna
I'm so excited to see your new units! I love everything you make! I might be in the minority here-but I love the color graphics. I usually print the stuff out and laminate it-so all I need is to print one copy in color. The color graphics are just so cute! If I am running low on color ink then I just print it in grayscale-but it is nice to have the color option.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Ms. L. I love the colored graphics and think they need to stay. People can choose to run them black and white if they do not want to print in color. I don't think they would look as nice on colored paper. I purchased all your other units and feel the color helps the students as well.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! Yeah! Keep up all the hard work !
ReplyDelete~S~
Oh my! I am so excited. You are both so talented. I love, love , love the idea of printing on colored paper and using less colored ink. I can't wait to see your first packet!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tonia in Redlands,CA
Julie Lee has been so wonderful this past school year - generously sharing many of her awesome items unselfishly, only suggesting a donation to her Donors Choose projects, which I've gladly done to support her class and in an effort to repay her kindness. Totally worth it, to me, and the spirit in which she shares is heartwarming. Seeing what you two come up with will definitely be interesting - can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI love your stuff! I cannot wait for the units! I think the colored version looks so NICE! If I ever need B&W I just use the colored version and use the copy machine for B&W copies. I think it is worth the ink to make the centers a little nicer for our students so in this case I really don't mind. Thank you!
