The First Week of School Part One..... Pirate sheet added per request!

Shoo-Wee!  I always forget how exhausting (but fun)  the first week of Kindergarten is!
Here are some of the things we did the first week.

Mercy!  Please excuse the spelling error above (listening)... Hello?!  There's a big red line to call my attention to the error but I didn't see it until I had already saved the slide.  So my error will just have to live on forever!  :)

The Rainbow Names and Wheels on the Bus activity can be found in this unit:

I will post more by Wednesday night!
A lot of you have asked about Pete the Cat... I am almost finished with the updates.
I am also working on essential questions to go along with the Common Core Standards.

So sorry y'all!  One thing that slowed me down on the Pete updates were all of the requests for different subject headings on the standards posters (52 requests= lots of work!)   It is so funny how we all teach the same subject areas but we use different wording.  Reading - Reader's Workshop-
Reading Workshop- Shared Reading.

Here's the pirate sheet a lot of you requested!  I made two different versions.  :)  They are both included in the same download.  Click on the picture below.

Also, bit of a shameless plug here. I'm having an assessment linky party over on my blog and would love for more experienced bloggers such as yourself to link up! If you have any creative assessment idea, particularly for Kindergarten kiddos, I'd love to hear about them! :)

  15. I have a question for you...I have the word detective sheet with all of the "helping characters" on it. Do you have anything made up that focuses on each one individually like the "Eagle Eye" one you mentioned in your post? I am interested in posting those in my classroom! Thanks for your help!
