We read the story, Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano and made Wanted signs for our turkeys.
The students decided on a disguise and drew their turkey.
Then, they had to decide what they would give as a reward. The students had to choose a reward that they could actually give. For example, 2,000 legos.
OOPS! That one should say, One I Pad.
Love how she spelled one. :)

OOPS! After I uploaded this freebie I realized that I forgot to add Jen Jones to the credits page for the fonts. I have her commercial license so credit isn't required. However, we all want to be recognized for our work and her fonts are AMAZING!!!

I love how the students had to draw the disguised turkey verses making one! Thanks for the freebie!
ReplyDeleteADORABLE!!!!

Deanna!! Super cute as usual! And a extra special thank you for the Hello Font shout-out! Yes, you do not need to give me credit...but you know I appreciate you spreading the word about my fonts, and my new commercial license! You're the BEST!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! Last year we read this book and I sent home a template for kids to decorate/disguise the turkey at home---but Thanksgiving seems early this year and I hadn't gotten around to sending it home. This will be PERFECT! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Rulin' The Roost
Hi Angie, I've always done it that way too but I noticed that it was the parents who were doing all of the work so I changed it this year. ;)
DeleteYou are so right! We have "kids" decorate a scarecrow at home and you can tell who "assists" their parents, and which ones take the lead and their parents assist them. :) Plus, now that I'm a momma of a first grader, I'm realizing about the lack of time at home to do these kinds of things, and I'm thankful my own son hasn't had a project like it!! Reading together and talking about books is my favorite time to spend with him---as it should be with my school kids!

Aww I love how they have to give something they actually have!
