The k teachers at my school have been following you and recently came upon your writing units which look wonderful! I have a lot of penguin activities for winter this yrand this unit would be a perfect extension! My students are learning about which animals hibernate and which ones come out in winter. My story...after teaching upper grades for thirty years, without any notice-one afternoon in October, I was told I had three days before I would have a roomful of kinders to fill the need of over-crowding. While I will not admit to the administrator I am loving it, it is evident to my colleagues I am going to have fun teaching in any grade because I love teaching. I've been very fortunate to be with a kindergarten team with as much experience as I had in upper grades and they share everything. Any time I can share with them a new idea I have gleaned from Pinterest or blogs, I feel like I am giving back to them for all they have done to make this an easier transition for me. We're beginning our arctic adventures next week, too. My snow mountain slopes bulletin is up and waiting for cuteness to appear!
